John Warwick Montgomery was a Christina apologist, a lawyer, and a librarian. He believed the truth of the Christian message could be demonstrated through proof the of the Resurrection using biblical evidence, historical evidence, and logic. The history of law, for him, was always specific to a culture and traceable through early laws, ritual, and folklore. As a librarian, he also believed in keeping every book, pamphlet, and paper he collected in connection with his scholarly pursuit, eventually totaling several thousand items which are now happily in process at the Lanier Theological Library.

Lanier Foundation properties are not available as a venue for large weddings and receptions, or private personal events of any size. While the Stone Chapel may be requested for small weddings on a very limited basis, the calendar is currently full through 2026. In 2027, requests will be reviewed during an application window posted on our website in the fall of 2026. We cannot consider submissions outside that window.
