Hebrew at the LTL

Our Hebrew classes guide you through the fundamentals of vocabulary and grammar, building a strong foundation in the language of the Old Testament. As the course progresses, you’ll begin exploring the rich theological depth of the texts—learning not just how to read Hebrew, but how to understand Scripture in its original context.

Overview

The Lanier Theological Library and Learning Center offers introductory Hebrew classes focused on building vocabulary and understanding grammar. As the course progresses, students will also explore the theological depth and significance of key biblical texts.

The course is taught by Jack Messarra, who has studied biblical languages since 2005. He holds a B.A. in Biblical Languages and Theology from Houston Christian University and an M.A. in Ancient Languages and Linguistics from Stellenbosch University.
